 Post subject: Lateral exercises

Today we work on lateral stuff. Sideways, of sorts. Check out wether your horse will stretch down- forwards first, then get to work!

Start head to the wall. Work about a long side at a time, shortside for rest. Four repeats, at least. Make sure your weight is correctly distributed.

Then shoulder- in along the wall. Same amount.

Then a little bit mobilization to the outside and to te inside on a circle: some steps inside, some steps to transition t inside flexion, rinse and repeat.

When all this works in walk and trot, go cantering. Counter- canter. Try to make a square pattern. It's difficult! If you can't: do a little bit of counter canter.

Back to walk: do some turns on the haunches.

Now go and try haunches in at the canter, on the circle.
